Contact Dan Kohler (608) 251-1918 Badger Poll Finds Strong Support for Environmental Protections and Clean EnergyStatement from Dan Kohler, Wisconsin Environment Director: The results from the most recent Badger Poll survey of environmental opinions in Wisconsin confirms what we all know: Wisconsinites cherish our natural environment and want strong protections for our air, land and water. Large majorities of Wisconsinites are concerned about declining waterways and the increasing threat of global warming. The people of Wisconsin also understand there are practical solutions and they want the state to do more to implement them. Seventy seven percent of residents favor water conservation programs to preserve our lakes, rivers and groundwater. And, sixty one percent of Wisconsinites favor higher emission standards for automobiles. Remarkably, 87% of Wisconsinites favor requiring power plants to produce more electricity through renewable sources such as wind and solar energy. Wisconsin Environment looks forward to working with the state Legislature and the Governor’s office to implement policies that protect Wisconsin’s air, open space and waterways. ### Wisconsin Environment is a citizen-based environmental advocacy
