Environmental Internship

Wisconsin Environment is a citizen-based, non-profit environmental advocacy organization running campaigns to promote clean energy on the state and federal level and protect Wisconsin’s lakes. The organization is seeking to hire several talented and motivated individuals for fall internship positions. Interns will work directly with Field Associate Lindsay North. They will take on real responsibilities to forward campaign strategies and tactics. These positions are unpaid, but provide valuable experience and may lead to further opportunities in our Environmental Fellowship Program.

Key Responsibilities may include:


•    Building coalitions with other organizations, community leaders and businesses

•   Generating media by writing and submitting letters to the editor

•    Organizing grassroots events to garner public support

Qualifications:

We are seeking smart, motivated individuals with good organizational, communication and writing skills. Interns will work closely with Field Associate Lindsay North to establish and implement a campaign plan. Interns will take on varying levels of responsibility based on experience and desire. Ideally, interns are based in or near Madison; however, strong candidates who live elsewhere and can complete intern responsibilities are encouraged to apply, particularly in Green Bay and Oshkosh.

Commitment: Sept. – Nov. 2009, 12-20 hours/week. This is an unpaid position.
