Clean Energy, Green EconomyIt’s time to repower Wisconsin and revitalize our economy with clean energy. Clean energy can create jobs, reduce our dependence on oil, keep our air and lakes clean, and help us solve global warming. With wind turbines springing up in the Fox Valley, farmers creating energy from crops, and UW researchers developing the next generation of clean fuels, Wisconsin is heading in the right direction. But we can do better. That’s why Wisconsin Environment is calling on the state to adopt a plan to get at least 25 percent of our energy from clean sources, like wind and solar, by 2025, while using energy more efficiently and reducing emissions. The big coal-fired power plants and other polluters are fighting to block the plan. And, unfortunately, they have some powerful allies in the Legislature. In the coming weeks, Wisconsin Environment will be building support for a bold clean energy plan. We’ll be meeting with legislators, publicizing our clean energy research, and organizing citizens across the state. And with your help, we can push past the polluters and bring more clean energy to Wisconsin.
