Protect our National Forests
As the Bush administration transitions into its last months
in office, our last wild national forests are literally moving to the chopping
block, as a parting gift to the administration’s friends in the logging, mining
and drilling industries.
Please send an e-mail to the chief of the Forest Service,
Gail Kimball. Make sure your voice is heard to protect pristine, roadless
forests.

Sample letter:
Dear Chief Kimbell,
Idaho
contains the largest continuous forest in the lower 48 states. This unique, pristine area is a national
treasure and is of extreme importance to Americans in Idaho and across the country.
Unfortunately, the draft rule issued by the Forest Service for Idaho’s roadless areas
would leave 6 million acres vulnerable to mining, logging, drilling and
road-building. Americans want to see our
last wild national forests protected. Please use your leadership to ensure that
all of Idaho’s
9.5 million acres are protected as intended in the 2001 Roadless Area
Conservation Rule.
Sincerely,
